I've long been intrigued by woodturning. When trees were cut down to make space for my wife’s pottery studio in our back yard, we called on a woodturner to transform our precious cherry and maple trees into beautiful bowls.   Thoroughly inspired, within just a few months I set up my own studio in our basement and began making bowls for family and friends.

My bowls are both functional and decorative. They are made from cherry, ambrosia maple, apple, oak,  holly, hickory, locust, butternut, birch, poplar, and walnut.   Each one comes from a fallen tree either found by me or donated by a friend.  My reverence for nature, especially trees, adds to my pleasure at preserving pieces so people can appreciate them for many years to come.
