Observing change in different mediums fascinates me. Teaching chemistry for many years afforded me that opportunity, and allowed me to share some of the hows and whys of the phenomena of change.

Since retiring I have had time to pursue this interest in ways that bring about changes in metals.  With the instruction and encouragement of talented jewelry instructors and friends, I have learned techniques that enhance silver metal and enable me to fabricate jewelry.  I often begin with sterling silver sheet and heat it until the form begins to change, or use other procedures to give different textures to the metal.

Semi-precious gemstones, ancient artifacts, or other unique objects nature has provided are used to accent most of my work. Juxtaposing organic textures and shapes of metal with the luster of semi-precious stones give me great pleasure- a pleasure I hope it gives the wearer as well.
